MH12 is a mid-frequency horn for DIY sound system construction. It is an analog of the famous Porn-horn with some differences in geometry.
The phase plug distributes pressure across the entire diaphragm area and eliminates the pre-horn chamber between the horn flange and the driver diaphragm, allowing significant power to be applied to the driver without risk of damaging the moving system, and also enabling operation up to 2kHz.
The horn comes with a rear chamber for the driver with an internal volume of 4 liters minus the driver volume.
Manufacturing similar constructions like mt-121/122 from plywood takes a lot of time and money, and the final product is bulky, has lower sensitivity (by 2dB), and is also very heavy.
MH12 is made from lightweight fiberglass composite and weighs only 12kg, and thanks to the rear chamber, it's already a complete speaker system. You can simply mount it together with our high-frequency horn CD9030 on a welded frame and use it — there's no need for a plywood enclosure requiring complex manufacturing work and expensive textured painting.
MH12 and CD9030 were created as a unified horn set, and when assembled they form a complete horn top enclosure — all that's left is your creativity in selecting drivers and signal processing.
